If you want to be baptised speak to Rev Phil Weaver or Pastor David Holmes. At New Springs we believe in baptism by immersion and we also believe that only believers, that is, only those who have put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, should be baptised.

Of course, many say they were baptised or christened as a baby, but we believe the scriptures teach baptism by immersion for every believer.

Here are some key reasons why every believer should be baptised:
1. It is a command of scripture (see Acts 2 v 38)
2. It is an instruction of Jesus (see Mark 16 V 16)
3. Jesus set us the example by being baptised Himself (Matthew 3 v 13-17; 1 John 2 v 6)
4. It is an act of obedience (Deuteronomy 27 v 10; 1 Samuel 15 v 22)
5. It is a symbol of what happened to you when you became a Christian – dying to yourself and rising to new life in Christ (Romans 6 v 1-6)
6. It is an opportunity for you to ‘go public’ and confess that Jesus is your Saviour and Lord (Matthew 10 v 32, 33)
