Knowing Jesus

There are many many people here at New Springs who have invited the Lord Jesus to be their personal Lord and Saviour.

This may be something that you haven’t yet done, but you are now ready to do this.

We receive Him into our lives through invitation. He would never dream of gate crashing your life – you must invite Him. You can do that by saying this simple sinner’s prayer:

'Lord Jesus Christ, I know I have sinned in my thoughts, words and actions. I have lived my life selfishly and without you. There are so many good things I have not done and there are so many sinful things I have done. I confess where you are concerned I’ve missed the mark and I am sorry for my sins and I turn from my selfishness and everything I know to be wrong. You gave your life upon the cross for me. Gratefully I give my life back to you.

Now, I ask you to come into my life, come in as my Saviour to cleanse me, come in as my Lord to control me, come in as my friend to be with me, and from this day on I will begin to serve, follow and obey you all the days of my life.

Thank you for coming into my life, and that you now live in me by your Holy Spirit. Amen’

If you have prayed that prayer and meant it, Jesus now lives in your life and heart by His Holy Spirit. You have received Him into your life by faith and He will never leave you or forsake you. He has promised to be your constant companion.

You are now at the start of a new life. It is only the beginning; you will need to grow in God. The best way of doing this is by:

  1. Attending a vibrant and growing Spirit-filled church - if you are local to Charnwood come and see us at New Springs! You can always get in touch if you need to through our contact page.

  2. Get an Bible and start to read it (NIV or The Message versions might be better in these early days). We recommend the Gospel of Mark as a good starting place.

  3. Talk to God in your own way and write down anything that you think He might be saying, either as you talk, or when you read the Bible.

  4. Tell someone! You’ve made the all important step to trust the Lord Jesus with your life - it’s important that you don’t keep this amazing news to yourself.
